4MA1/1FR Jun 2019, Question 11: Drawing Straight-Line Graphs

Pearson Edexcel International GCSE Mathematics A 4MA1 · Paper 1FR (Foundation) · Calculator · 3 marks

اقرأ هذا الحل مشروحاً بالعربي ←

The question, in short

On the given grid, plot the straight line y = 2x − 3 using x values from −1 to 5.

Summarised in our own words. Use the official paper for the exact wording and the diagram.

Solution · 3 marks

  1. 1Work out y for some x values: x = −1 gives y = 2(−1) − 3 = −5
  2. 2x = 0 gives y = −3, x = 2 gives y = 1, x = 5 gives y = 7
  3. 3Plot (−1, −5), (0, −3), (1, −1), (2, 1), (3, 3), (4, 5), (5, 7)
  4. 4Join with a ruled straight line from x = −1 to x = 5

AnswerA straight line through (−1, −5), (0, −3), (1, −1), (2, 1), (3, 3), (4, 5), (5, 7)
