Summarised in our own words. Use the official paper for the exact wording and any diagrams.

Solution · 4 marks

  1. 13.5 litres = 3.5 × 1000 = 3500 millilitres
  2. 2Water from the 3 cups = 3 × 200 = 600 millilitres
  3. 3Water from the 4 jugs = 3500 − 600 = 2900 millilitres
  4. 4Each jug holds 2900 ÷ 4 = 725 millilitres
  5. 5x = 725
