The question, in short

Given P(Heads) = 0.8 and P(6 and Heads) = 0.24 for a biased dice and coin, find the probability of rolling 6 and getting Tails.

Summarised in our own words. Use the official paper for the exact wording and any diagrams.

Solution · 3 marks

  1. 1P(6 and Heads) = P(6) × 0.8 = 0.24, so P(6) = 0.24 ÷ 0.8 = 0.3
  2. 2P(Tails) = 1 − 0.8 = 0.2
  3. 3P(6 and Tails) = 0.3 × 0.2 = 0.06
