Part (a) · 2 marks
Fill in the missing probabilities on the tree diagram for packet A and packet B branches, including sunflower and not sunflower outcomes.
- 1Packet A, not sunflower: 1 − 7/12 = 5/12
- 2Packet B, sunflower: 8/15; not sunflower: 1 − 8/15 = 7/15
- 3Both pairs of packet B branches are the same: 5/12, 8/15, 7/15, 8/15, 7/15
Answer5/12, 8/15, 7/15, 8/15, 7/15
Part (b) · 2 marks
