Summarised in our own words. Use the official paper for the exact wording and any diagrams.

Solution · 4 marks

  1. 1c(7 − 8t²) = t² + 3
  2. 27c − 8ct² = t² + 3
  3. 37c − 3 = t² + 8ct²
  4. 47c − 3 = t²(1 + 8c)
  5. 5t² = (7c − 3)/(1 + 8c)
  6. 6t = ±√((7c − 3)/(1 + 8c))

Answert = ±√((7c − 3)/(1 + 8c))
