The question, in short

Solution · 4 marks

  1. 1Bounds: AB 11.25 to 11.75, BC 9.15 to 9.25, side 4.05 to 4.15
  2. 2Upper bound X = 11.75 × 9.25 − 4.05² = 92.285
  3. 3Lower bound X = 11.25 × 9.15 − 4.15² = 85.715
  4. 4Both bounds round to 90 (1 s.f.)
  5. 5X = 90
