WMA11/01 Jan 2024, Question 1: Integration: Undoing Differentiation
Pearson Edexcel International AS Level Mathematics · Pure Mathematics 1 (WMA11) · Calculator · 5 marks
The question, in short
Integrate the product (2x − 5)(3x + 2)(2x + 5) with respect to x and give the result in its simplest form.
Summarised in our own words. Use the official paper for the exact wording and any diagrams.
Solution · 5 marks
- 1(2x − 5)(3x + 2) = 6x² − 11x − 10
- 2(6x² − 11x − 10)(2x + 5) = 12x³ + 8x² − 75x − 50
- 3∫ (12x³ + 8x² − 75x − 50) dx
- 4= 3x⁴ + (8/3)x³ − (75/2)x² − 50x + c
Answer3x⁴ + (8/3)x³ − (75/2)x² − 50x + c
