Summarised in our own words. Use the official paper for the exact wording and any diagrams.

Part (a) · 2 marks

Work out the missing probability for red, using the fact that all probabilities sum to 1.

  1. 1P(red) = 1 − (2/5 + 1/4)
  2. 2= 1 − 13/20 = 7/20

Answer7/20 or 0.35 or 35%

Part (b) · 1 mark

Calculate the expected count of green outcomes when the spinner is spun 120 times.

  1. 1Expected green = 2/5 × 120 = 48
