Pearson Edexcel International GCSE Mathematics A 4MA1 · Paper 1H (Higher) · Calculator · 3 marks

اقرأ هذا الحل مشروحاً بالعربي ←

The question, in short

Using a = (v − u)/t with v = 9.6, u = 3.8 and t = 1.84, each rounded, find the upper bound of a to 2 decimal places, showing working.

Summarised in our own words. Use the official paper for the exact wording and any diagrams.

Solution · 3 marks

  1. 1v = 9.6 (1 d.p.) so upper bound of v is 9.65
  2. 2u = 3.8 (1 d.p.) so lower bound of u is 3.75
  3. 3t = 1.84 (2 d.p.) so lower bound of t is 1.835
  4. 4a = (v − u) / t
  5. 5a = (9.65 − 3.75) / 1.835
  6. 6a = 5.9 / 1.835
  7. 7a = 3.2152...
  8. 8a = 3.22 (correct to 2 decimal places)
