اقرأ هذا الحل مشروحاً بالعربي ←

The question, in short

Using a biased 6-sided dice probability table with terms 2x, 0.18, 2x, 3x, 0.26 and x, estimate how many even results occur in 200 throws.

Summarised in our own words. Use the official paper for the exact wording and any diagrams.

Solution · 4 marks

  1. 1Probabilities add to 1: 8x + 0.18 + 0.26 = 1
  2. 28x = 0.56, so x = 0.07
  3. 3P(even) = P(2) + P(4) + P(6) = 0.18 + 0.21 + 0.07 = 0.46
  4. 4Estimate = 0.46 × 200 = 92
