Cambridge IGCSE Mathematics 0580 · Paper 22 (Extended) · Calculator · 3 marks

اقرأ هذا الحل مشروحاً بالعربي ←

The question, in short

Speed–time graph for a 16-second car journey: constant 10 m/s for 12 s, then straight decrease to 0 at 16 s. Find the deceleration and total distance.

Summarised in our own words. Use the official paper for the exact wording and the diagram.

Part (a) · 1 mark

Find the car's deceleration over the last 4 seconds.

  1. 1Deceleration = 10 ÷ 4 = 2.5 m/s²

Answer2.5

Part (b) · 2 marks

Find the total distance travelled over the 16 seconds.

  1. 1Distance = area under the graph
  2. 2= 10 × 12 + 1/2 × 4 × 10 = 120 + 20
  3. 3= 140 m

Answer140
