اقرأ هذا الحل مشروحاً بالعربي ←

The question, in short

Using a table of probabilities for green 0.2 and red 0.35, a pink-to-white ratio of 2:1 and 28 red sweets, find how many white sweets the bag holds.

Summarised in our own words. Use the official paper for the exact wording and any diagrams.

Solution · 5 marks

  1. 1Total sweets = 28 ÷ 0.35 = 80
  2. 2P(pink or white) = 1 − (0.2 + 0.35) = 0.45
  3. 3Pink : white = 2 : 1, so P(white) = 0.45 ÷ 3 = 0.15
  4. 4White sweets = 80 × 0.15 = 12
