The question, in short
Three short algebra tasks: factorise 25f − 10, rearrange c = 5y − h to make y the subject, and solve the inequality 4x + 7 > 2.
Summarised in our own words. Use the official paper for the exact wording and any diagrams.
Part (a) · 1 mark
Factorise the expression 25f − 10.
- 1The highest common factor of 25f and 10 is 5
- 225f − 10 = 5(5f − 2)
Answer5(5f − 2)
Part (b) · 2 marks
Rearrange the formula c = 5y − h so that y is the subject.
- 1c = 5y − h
- 2Add h to both sides: c + h = 5y
- 3Divide by 5: y = (c + h)/5
Answery = (c + h)/5
Part (c) · 2 marks
Solve the inequality 4x + 7 > 2 for x.
- 1Subtract 7 from both sides: 4x > 2 − 7
- 24x > −5
- 3Divide by 4: x > −1.25
Answerx > −1.25
